The Goal

HERE WHEN YOU NEED US

A&A Services West Midlands is a local organisation to us, providing help and support services to those in need in the local community. They needed a website to better convey the range of services they provide and to better represent those that they help and support.

Above all, the need to ensure those that seek A&A Services are able and willing to do so. This means having accessible ways to get in touch, on a platform that they trust and can use intuitively.

Those in society for whom A&A Services West Midlands provides support are often vulnerable. It may take extra steps and considerations to gain a user’s trust for them to get in touch. It may also not take much to confuse or scare a user away; every user lost is potentially vital support not going where it needs.

A secondary challenge of this web design was to acknowledge the other users of this site that don’t directly receive services offered, but are important in the process of support services delivery. Users such as caregivers, social workers, or healthcare staff. These users need to feel confident that A&A Services West Midlands both understands the needs of the community and has the resources and ability to provide helpful solutions.

Thirdly, we were not only tasked with the design and development of the site, but also the written content.

Mindset

We designed the website to encompass a feeling of invitation, community, and support. This mindset guided every design choice, from the colour palette and logo design to the site photography and custom graphic elements. It also underpinned word choice and the tone of writing, particularly on the Our Services page.

Soft UI

By discussing the user mindset in detail, we reasoned a soft and flowing feel to the user interface to be the best approach to harness a feeling of calm and trust for the user. We subtly delivered this site-wide, with use of soft box shadows, ease-in scroll effects, hover effects and radial gradients.

One-click call options are always on screen in a sticky header, without being pushy or intrusive on screen. There is a direct email option, address is listed, and a simple form present in the footer of every page, all to maximise the ease and choice for the user to get in touch with A&A Services.
